Privacy & Data Policy

AZERTYUIOP.io ("the site", "we") is a free browser rhythm game. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the game, we never sell your data, and you can play without creating an account at all.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The site is operated by its owner, reachable at [email protected]. For anything related to your personal data, this is the contact to use.

2. Data we collect

If you play without signing in, no personal data is collected. Your scores, points and shop purchases are stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage) and never leave your device, except for anonymous score contributions to the shared global pot.

If you sign in with Google, we receive and store through our authentication provider (Supabase):

• your email address;
• your Google display name and profile picture;
• the username and secret tag you choose for the leaderboard;
• your game data: points balance, best score, games played, owned and equipped cosmetic items, and your friends list.

Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to serve and protect the site. We do not use this data to identify you.

3. What we use it for

• Syncing your progress across devices (account data).
• Displaying the public leaderboard — only your chosen username and best score are visible to other players, never your email or real name.
• Adding friends — your secret #tag is only shared if you give it to someone.
• Counting the shared global pot that funds tree planting.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Ever.

4. Cookies and local storage

The game itself does not use tracking cookies. It uses:

• localStorage — to save your progress and settings on your device;
• Supabase authentication tokens — to keep you signed in, only if you use Google sign-in.

You can clear both at any time from your browser settings; you will simply lose local progress or be signed out.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

When advertising is enabled, we will use Google AdSense. In that case:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or www.aboutads.info for other third-party vendors.
• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent banner will ask for your permission before any advertising cookie is set, in line with Google's EU user consent policy. You will be able to refuse personalized ads and change your choice at any time.

6. Who your data is shared with

Only with the processors needed to run the site:

• Supabase — authentication and game database;
• Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery;
• Google — sign-in, and advertising once enabled (see section 5).

7. How long we keep it

Account data is kept as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, all associated data (email, username, scores, friends) is permanently removed from our database. Local storage data stays on your device until you clear it.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).

9. Children

The site is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 15. Signing in with Google requires a Google account, which has its own age requirements. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way (for example when advertising goes live), the "last updated" date above will change and significant updates will be visible on this page before they take effect.
